1. Overview of GOODSPOTS's privacy policy

The GOODSPOTS solution is published by the company GOODSPOTS and offers its customers, through its mobile application, digital services to support travel in vans and motorhomes, such as:

  • Parking spots and services;
  • Travel stories and country-by-country documentation;
  • Caravanning classified ads.

GOODSPOTS also offers its customers a subscription giving access to advanced features. As part of these activities, GOODSPOTS processes users' personal data when they browse the solution or subscribe to a plan.

The notion of "personal data" covers information that allows you to be identified directly as an individual, such as your surname, first name and address. Other information may also allow you to be identified (a phone number, an IP address, etc.).

European Union regulations, and in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (known as the "GDPR"), govern the use of your personal data by third parties.

The purpose of this privacy policy is to explain to you the personal data concerning you that GOODSPOTS uses when you browse our solution, how it is used and the rights you have.

2. What data do we process and for what purposes?

As part of our activities, we collect and record personal data about the users of the solution and about our customers.

The data we process about the users of the GOODSPOTS solution varies depending on the type of user.

For all users

Your details, in particular: the display name, preferred language, biography, vehicle characteristics (type, make, model, year and height), website or blog addresses, as well as social media accounts such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube (channel name or URL), Mastodon and Pixelfed that you choose to provide, where applicable. Performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures. For the duration the account exists. In the event of prolonged inactivity, the data is deleted after 3 years (following our reminder related to the account's inactivity).
Giving you access to the community features of the solution (viewing the map, adding spots, sharing experiences, posting listings, posting reviews and ratings). Profile data, published content, reviews, ratings, username. Performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures. Identification data is deleted when the account is deleted. Published contributions may be retained after the account is deleted where they remain relevant to the operation and value of the community database, but after anonymisation.
Handling your contact request, your reports or complaints regarding the solution by email. Sender's email address, content of the request and any information voluntarily communicated when getting in touch. Our legitimate interest in responding to contact, support, report or complaint requests sent to GOODSPOTS. For all subscribers

When you take out a subscription, we collect the following personal data:

The solution uses only technical cookies strictly necessary for its operation and for user authentication. These cookies are deleted when the user logs out.

3. The recipients of your personal data

GOODSPOTS may transmit your personal data:

  • To its personal data processors (in particular its IT hosting provider or its payment service provider, etc.);
  • To the authorities (DGCCRF, CNIL, tax authorities, etc.);
  • To potential buyers or the transferee of the company in the context of capital transactions, where applicable;
  • To a court or legal counsel in the context of a dispute.

When you click on a link to a third-party service (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Mastodon, Pixelfed, etc.), you are redirected to the relevant platforms, which may process your personal data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Donations made via Ko-fi are processed directly by Ko-fi and its payment providers. GOODSPOTS does not access the payment data associated with these transactions. We encourage you to consult the privacy policies of these services.

The solution may contain links to third-party services, in particular a community group hosted on Signal. When you choose to join this group, the processing of personal data carried out in that context is handled by Signal and is subject to its own privacy policy.

4. Transfer of data outside the European Union

GOODSPOTS does not transfer personal data to countries outside the European Union.

You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection to the processing of your personal data, or a right to the portability of this data, by sending an email.

Where the legal basis indicated in article 2 is consent, you also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Where the legal basis mentioned in article 2 is based on legitimate interest, you have the right to object to it if you consider that the following three conditions are not met:

  • The legitimate interest must be established and lawful;
  • The processing must be necessary, with no less intrusive alternative to achieve the intended objective;
  • A balancing of interests must demonstrate that your rights are not harmed.
